Today we got to explore the city of Kobe. In the morning we went to the Japanese Overseas Migration Center. When we got there, we learned about why Japanese people in the early 1900's would emigrate to other places. We also learned how this affected them and how they lived from then on. This was interesting and related to me, because my ancestors migrated from Japan to Hawaii. After that we explored the area, we got to see two religious buildings one being a Mosque. This was interesting, because around Japan you mainly see just shrines and temples. We walked around a little longer and split up to get lunch. The group I was with met up with Aki again and we ate Yakiniku, which is basically grilled meat. After lunch Aki took us around Kobe, then we ate these dumpling like things. From there, we took a train to a Disaster Reduction and Prevention museum. Here we got to watch videos on natural disasters that happened at different times in Japan. This was an interesting place to go to, because I was able to see how dangerous natural disasters really can be. Also how Japan plans on preventing and/or reducing the damages from these disasters. If most of these plans work, It could be really good for everyone in the world. This is because natural disasters tend to be deadly and cause a lot of damage to the affected areas. After this museum we took the train back to Osaka where I got to lie in my bed and eat Kobe beef.
