Back to Tokyo

I remember it like it was this morning. It was cold...so cold. I had to bust out the beanie. I fell asleep on the train for who knows how long waking up 3 hours later not knowing where I was or who I am anymore. We ended up at this dark place called Tokyo, it reminded me so much of the first place we went on this trip for some reason. I was slightly quenched exiting the train as if I hadn't had anything to drink besides some weird jelly drink that Kampbell and I both sold out 2 hotels of their stash. It is called ナタデココ. We walked over to some sketchy area with lots of knock off shoes and food restaurants that will probably give me diarrhea. But we weren't there for the stunning slightly discolored Yeezys or to drain our stash of pepto bismol, we were there for a much better reason. We went to that place to give the residents of the area a chance for a feast. A feast that consisted of Curry, Rice, and lots of warm clothing. Around 250 people showed up for this meal, it was lots of work pouring enough curry onto to the rice so we not run out of curry and have too much rice. Even though it was cold the deed we were doing made me warm inside (metaphorically of course I was freezing the whole time). It was a great experience.
We left relaxing/traditional Nara and back to stimulating/modern Tokyo.

Homeless people are waiting to pick up donated clothes. No too many clothes considering over 250 people are waiting in line patiently.

It is 42 F and cold. People are in need for blankets, towels and warm pants. We wish we can bring our entire closets here to help out.

We are getting ready to serve warm chai tea for the people. Only about 20 volunteers and over 250 people are in need tonight.

Jack is handing out fresh vegetables. One gentleman said that this is the only time he can eat vegetable.

They are happy to eat nice hot curry tonight. The NPO is able to do this only once a week.

Hans and Kamau are serving curry rice.

The night lights of Ikebukuro. We were able to experience the glorious and non-glorious sides of Tokyo tonight.
